In a Super Rugby Pacific semifinal upset for many, which we predicted – the Chiefs knocked over the Hurricanes 19-30 in Wellington yesterday, scoring two early tries and hanging on for a great win.
Rising star, Wallace Sititi was outstanding at No. 8 and flyhalf Damian McKenzie contributed 15 points with a perfect afternoon from the kicking tee as the Chiefs won a Super Rugby playoff on the road for the first time at their fifth attempt.
They will be chasing a third Super Rugby title next Saturday at Eden Park against the Blues, who outmuscled the ACT Brumbies 34-20 in the first semi-final on Friday.
