The Springboks are playing mind games naming four halfbacks in their RWC2023 33-man squad and taking nine reserves to Europe, including injured star flyhalf, Andre Pollard.
Much like Eddie Jones, inviting legendary All Blacks Head Coach, Sir Steve Hansen into their RWC2023 training camp in France this week, but the backlash from the Kiwis back home, including the PM forced Steve to get on local radio.
“I’d just like to put everybody’s mind at rest that I haven’t joined the Wallabies for the Rugby World Cup, I’m here for about three or four days at the request of Eddie, a good mate of mine, just to give him some feedback on what he’s doing. Rugby is bigger than all of us, so (I’m) happy to do that,” Sir Steve Hansen on Kiwi radio station Newstalk ZB.
This after New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins joked that Hansen should have his citizenship cancelled.
