bounced back with a 24-7 win over South Africa. They play Ireland at 3.02pm
later today.

France, New Zealand,
USA and South Africa sailed through to the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong 7s Men’s
quarter-finals with perfect records on day one.

All eyes were on
Australia’s opening game as Michael Hooper made his 7s debut after 125 Test
caps – including 69 as captain of the Wallabies to his name.

Hooper got his 7s career
off to a winning start 12-0 over Fiji, but Australia were later beaten 14-19 by
France.

In other results from
yesterday: After their 12 nil loss to Australia, Fiji Men then
trounced Canada 5-45 and so must beat France at 5.43pm today to make the QFs.

Also in Hong Kong
yesterday, Samoa 14-17 Spain, then they lost to Ireland 12-7 and their final
pool game vs South Africa at 2.16pm tomorrow.
