New Zealand secured HSBC Los Angeles 7s gold with a 22-12 over Argentina. Fiji claimed the bronze medal thanks to a two-point win over Australia. Samoa was 5th after a golden point 24-19 win over Great Britain.
The men’s pools for Vancouver have HSBC Los Angeles winners New Zealand in Pool A alongside Cape Town champions Samoa, Spain and the United States. Pool B includes Argentina with South Africa France and Japan. Fiji will meet Great Britain, Uruguay and Kenya in Pool C, while Australia lead Pool D alongside Ireland, Canada and Chile.
