In rugby union
The World Rugby Pacific Four Series returns between 27 April and 25 May, 2024 with matches taking place in Australia, New Zealand and USA.
But get this – there are no actual teams from Pasifika taking part!
That’s right – no Fiji, no Tonga or Samoa.
Host nations Australia, New Zealand and USA are joined by Canada in the four-team line-up, battling for one Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 place and the Top three teams qualify for WXV1.
In rugby league
“I’ve expressed interest in the New Zealand job, yes. I’ve spoken to the NZ Rugby League and I’m waiting for them to come back to me,” Dolphins super coach Wayne Bennett confirms that he has applied to replace Michael Maguire as New Zealand Kiwis Head Coach.
Bennett will finish with the Dolphins at the end of this season and is the leading candidate to land the Kiwis job, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The report said the NZRL CEO confirmed Bennett will get a formal interview, with the governing body keen to name Maguire’s replacement by the end of February.

Tyson Fury has prioritised southpaw sparring ahead of his clash with Oleksandr Usyk and so has been facing Moses Itauma (7-0) Kevin Lerena (30-2) and Alexis Barriere (11-0) in training.
