Former Dragons playmaker Talatau Amone will have his A$500,000 a year contract ripped up after he chose not to appeal the NRL’s ruling to deregister him after being found guilty of a hammer attack – chasing a tradesman off a roof in a heated dispute in Wollongong in November 2022.

ESPN, meanwhile, said its coverage of the Christmas day clash between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers on ABC and ESPN+ drew an average of 27.1 million, the second-most-watched Monday Night Football game in the last 27 years.
