In breaking rugby union news

Surprise, surprise Simon Raiwalui has joined World Rugby as High Performance Pathways and Player Development Manager.

World Rugby has appointed the former Flying Fijians Head Coach in the key role to support a new era of opportunity and growth.

No wonder Raiwalui never criticized the governing body and match officials during Rugby World Cup 2023 despite blatant wrong calls against Fiji.

In Football

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr have booked their place in the Asian Champions League knockout stages, despite the megastar overruling the referee to say there was no foul on him and so no penalty in an incredible piece of sportsmanship.

Had Ronaldo scored from the spot he would have become the top goal scorer for the season.

In combat sports

Former WWE star Tammy “Sunny” Sytch was sentenced in a Florida court on Monday to 17 years in prison for a March 2022 car crash that claimed the life of a 75-year-old man.

The former wrestler and manager was alleged to have a blood-alcohol content three and half times the legal limit.

In SportsBiz

Jon Rahm, the No. 3-ranked player in the world and defending Masters champion, reportedly has an offer to sign with the controversial Saudi-backed league for US$600Million. That would mark the biggest paycheck yet shelled out by LIV.

Phil Mickelson is currently believed to have accepted the highest offer — around US$200M —  while players like Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau are said to have received US$100M-plus deals.

Tiger Woods reportedly turned down an offer from LIV worth nearly US$800M.

And that’s a wrap!
