Summary

Malo  and welcome to Episode 84 of Breakfast Bites by TeivovoSports.com – a  wrap of Pasifika peoples sports on this cloudy Thursday morning 22  September 2022 – coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in  the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

In  rugby – Black Ferns Head Coach, Wayne Smith has named Portia Woodman,  Sarah Hirini and Stacey Fluhler in his squad for the Rugby World Cup  Womens XVs in New Zealand in November, describing the 7s stars as “world  class” players whose abilities were too good to ignore.

“They are clearly exceptional rugby players,” Smith said.

Should Team Fijiana do the same with some of our 7s stars injected into the Fijiana XVs side for the Women’s Rugby World Cup?

Go Fijiana Go!

In  boxing – OUCH the CANELO-GGG Super Middleweight trilogy fight only  generated 575,000 Pay-Per-View buys tops @ US$75 for a total  US$43Million, according to boxing insiders – a major loss based on the  exorbitant salaries guaranteed to both combatants – Canelo at US$45M and  GGG US$20M.

In  football – Major sponsor KFC is threatening to sue the French Football  Federation (FFF) following PSG star, Kylian Mbappé’s refusal to promote  the fast-food chain in a group photo shoot.

Mbappé refuses to support gambling firms and fast-food companies, plus he’s is fighting the FFF over his image rights.

In netball – What  a farce! A makeshift Jamaica netball team lost the first Test of their  series against the Silver Ferns last night 70-45 after scraping their  team together including Head Coach Connie Francis as a player who – get  this gave birth only six weeks ago and is in her 50s.

Just  reconfirming that – Francis played in her first World Cup in 1987 so if  she was 20 then she is 55 now, and gave birth six weeks ago WOW!

Jamaica also pulled in Romelda Aiken-George from Australia after also recently having her first child, and Carla Borrego, 38 who was part of the Jamaican side which won bronze at the 2003 Netball World Cup

Geez these Sunshine Girls sure can make babies man!

In chess – after controversially withdrawing from his online chess match against brash US Youtube sensation, Hans Niemann on Monday after making just one move.

Now  supporters of World No. 1, Magnus Carlsen accuse the American of  concealing a string of metallic sex beads up his bum for receiving  external instructions for the game!

This is just so hilarious – we’re talking chess here right?
