In Rugby Union

BREAKING NEWS: Moana Pasifika have confirmed that they have signed All Blacks star and vice-captain Ardie Savea, who has signed a deal through until 2027.

Savea is the current World Rugby Player of the Year and has played 84 games for New Zealand..

In Rugby League

Wayne Bennett says the Dolphin’s clash against the Panthers should never have gone to golden point.

His young star Isaiya Katoa had a golden opportunity to win the game at the death but instead of taking a field goal shot in front from just 12M out, he inexplicably kicked to the corner.

The play was defused and a few minutes later Nathan Cleary landed a 43M golden point dagger to break the Dolphins hearts.

In Boxing

Youtuber and fake boxer, Jake Paul won his 10th professional fight with a sixth round TKO against Bare Knuckles Middleweight Champion Mike Perry yesterday.

But despite another win, the same questions have arisen for the social media sensation.

Perry who usually fights at 79kg middleweight, had spoken a big game, but he was knocked down in the first, second and sixth rounds by Paul who was at least 95kg, coming down after building up size for a heavyweight fight with Mike Tyson that was postponed.

CBS analyst Josh Thomson commented: “How long are we going to pretend that Jake Paul is beating people his size or his age? The one person he fought his size and age, he lost to.”.

In the Olympic Games

The Stade de France, host of last year’s Rugby World Cup final, will stage the track and field events, and in typical French fashion – the track will be purple.

Alain Blondel, Manager in charge of Athletics for Paris 2024, explained the colour choice: “Our job was to come up with a track that was different from what we had seen, to maintain the creative approach of the Organising Committee, to go a little bit outside the box.”.

In SportsBiz

Criminal and banned betting activity in American sports leagues is already sounding alarm bells. But the next gambling bombshell could drop from their neighbor to the north.

Despite its relatively small population of 39 million, Canada is a big gambling nation. Canadians legally wager more than US$20Billion a year on sports, according to the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport.

They spend another US$10B with illegal bookies.

The big kicker – there are no laws in Canada explicitly banning match-fixing.

And that’s a wrap peeps!
