The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lost their final warm-up game against the Melbourne Rebels yesterday.
The Aussies came from behind to beat the Drua 21-26 in Melbourne.
The Drua led 21-7 at halftime thanks to tries from hooker Zuriel Togiatama, lock Etonia Waqa and flanker Elia Canakaivata with Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula successfully converting all three.
In other pre-season games yesterday, the Hurricanes thrashed Moana Pasifika 59-26, the Highlanders beat the defending champions Crusaders 41-17 and the Blues beat the Chiefs.
In rugby league
The Australian Indigenous All Stars secured a hard-fought 22-14 win, beating out the Maori All Stars in Townsville last night.
Indigenous playmaker Braydon Trindall was crowned the 2024 Preston Campbell Medalist after recording two try assists in a solid display partnering Nicho Hynes.
The Foxx – Josh Addo-Carr also scored two tries in front of a raucous crowd.
Earlier Indigenous All Stars playmaker Kirra Dibb was awarded the Trish Hina medal after steering her side to a comprehensive 26-4 win over the Maori All Stars Women in wet conditions.

One fight in UFC298 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California this Saturday night has been cancelled, but the championship main event between Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria is on.

A Dutch court sentenced former Ajax and international wing Quincy Promes to six years in prison after convicting him of smuggling 1,363Kg of cocaine from Brazil in 2020, into the Netherlands with the help of an accomplice.
The 32-year-old, now playing for Spartak Moscow, was not in court to hear the sentence, a spokesperson told AFP.
Previous attempts to extradite him from Moscow have failed.

Taylor Swift has donated US$100 000 to a fundraiser supporting the family of the woman shot dead at Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade.
The GoFundMe page was set up to raise US$75 000 for the family of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, who died in the shooting that also left 22 people injured, including several children.
“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.
The page has raised more than US$200 000.
Police said the shooting was the result of a “dispute” and two juveniles were among those detained.
