Summary

Malo  and welcome to Episode 78 of Breakfast Bites by TeivovoSports.com – a  wrap of Pasifika peoples sports on this beautiful bright and sunny  Friday morning 16 September 2022 – coming to you from paradise on the  180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

In  rugby – Ooh “Dairy Farmer Fozzy” and “No Show Cane” survived – just, to  fight another day thanks to some fancy pancy French champagne  refereeing last night in Melbourne.

With  the Wallabies desperately hanging on to a 3 point lead just 5M from  their try line with 90secs left, French ref Mathieu Raynal made an  incredible decision – reversing a free kick because Bernard Foley was  milking the clock taking too long to kick the ball into touch, from  which the All Blacks scored a try after the hooter to win 39-37.

In rugby league – Justin  Hodges blasted the Referee’s decision to stop their fight at the Nissan  Arena last night as “bulls***” after Paul Gallen survived a knockdown  and came fighting back against the former Maroons star. Gallen also a  former NRL and State of Origin star verbally agreed to a rematch.

In US sports – the NFL once again dominates the ranks of the world’s most valuable sports teams with the Dallas Cowboys No. 1 with a US$8Billion valuation, the New England Patriots are in second spot at US$6.4B and the Los Angeles Rams following at US$6.2B.

Get  this – sports franchises from the big apple – New York, dominates the  ranks of the world’s most valuable sports teams. MLB team, the New York  Yankees are 4th and the NFL New  York Giants in 5th place on the list, are both valued at US$6Billion  each, plus the NBA New York Knicks are valued at $5.8B and the New York Rangers are the most valuable NHL team at US$2B.

In tennis – one  of the greatest players to have ever stepped onto a tennis court, Swiss  star Roger Federer has announced his retirement as injuries finally  take their toll.

“I  am 41 years old. I have played more than 1500 matches over 24 years.  Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and  now I must recognise when it is time to end my competitive career.” Smart man.

Federer confirmed the Laver Cup next week in London would be his final event on the ATP Tour.

In basketball – NBA legend, icon and greatest of all time, Michael Jordan is just about to launch the fifth release of his Cincoro Tequila called Cincoro Gold.

Wanna shot? So the 750-milliliter bottle costs US$350 and will be available in October.

Er . . . I think I’ll just stick to my Kava.
