A public inquest into the death of former Manly Sea Eagles player Keith Titmuss will be held in February 2024.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the NSW Coroner’s Court has planned a five-day investigation into Titmuss’ death which occurred after a pre-season session in late 2020.

The 20-year-old collapsed during the session and died with an initial report unable to identify what caused his tragic death.

In the NBA

The Lakers are the inaugural winners of the NBA’s in-season tournament, taking down a plucky Indiana Pacers team 123-109 on Sunday afternoon in their showdown in Las Vegas.

And in the Lakers biggest game of the 2023-24 season so far, Anthony Davis went a long way to answering his critics finishing with 41 points, 20 rebounds, five assists and four blocks.

Lebron James had 24 points and 11 rebounds while Austin Reaves was a spark plug off the bench with 28 points.

Tyrese Haliburton led the way for Indiana with 20 points and 11 assists but was made to work for every bucket against a testing Lakers defence.

In combat sports

Aussie boxing star Liam Paro just put the boxing world on notice after delivering a stunning sixth round stoppage win against Montana Love in San Francisco on Sunday.

Paro improved his professional record to 24-0 as he thrust himself into the upper echelon of the super lightweight division on the blockbuster Devin Haney vs Regis Prograis card.

Meanwhile blonde Aussie bombshell Ebanie Bridges lost her IBF Bantamweight world title via a unanimous decision after she was stunned and completely pummeled by Japanese fighter Miyo Yoshida.

Yoshida controlled the fight, landing punches at will with the judges all scoring the contest for Yoshida in a landslide.

In SportsBiz

One of the biggest questions in US sports has finally been answered – Japanese baseball star, Shohei Ohtani is signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers, for the next 10 years, at US$700Million according to ESPN, which comes to an average of US$432,098 per game according to The Athletic.
