The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that former Wallabies Head Coach Eddie Jones had his in-person interview for the role with Japan Rugby at the Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo on Thursday morning.
It’s reportedly down to Jones and South African coach Frans Ludeke, who coaches Japanese Top League side Kubota Spears, having previously coached the Bulls Super Rugby franchise to two titles.
Japanese media have long reported the 63-year-old Jones as the leading candidate to take over from ex-Japanese coach Jamie Joseph.
And wait for it – sources in Fiji claim that Joseph has applied for the Flying Fijians job, recently vacated by Simon Raiwalui.

NRL Physio, Brien Seeney has posted that Penrith Panthers superstar Captain Nathan Cleary “Will play the rest of his career without a posterior cruciate ligament in that knee – the likes of Benji Marshall, Greg Inglis, Billy Slater and Shaun Johnson have all played for years with torn PCL’s.”

More Messi magic: Inter Miami might end up the league’s top-earning MLS Club this season, despite not making the playoffs.
Thanks to the arrival of Lionel Messi in July, Miami’s 2023 total revenue will land upwards of US$120Million for this year.
Inter Miami’s season tickets for next year have, unsurprisingly, already sold out.
Even with record goals for 2024, Inter Miami’s revenue could soar still higher in 2025, when a new US$350M soccer stadium is scheduled to open.
In the NBA
The stage is set for the NBA’s In-Season Tournament Final tomorrow, between the Indiana Pacers and LA Lakers.
In Friday’s first semi-final in Las Vegas, Tyrese Haliburton announced himself as a genuine NBA superstar under the bright lights, dropping 27 points with 15 assists and seven rebounds — and no turnovers — to see the Indiana Pacers take down the Milwaukee Bucks 128-119.
Later, the Lakers made quick work of the New Orleans Pelicans in a 133-89 thrashing thanks to a masterful showing from LeBron James who racked up 30 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field and 8-of-8 from the free throw line with five rebounds and eight assists in just 23 minutes.

Samoa Joe will reprise his role as series-favorite “Sweet Tooth” in the second season of the Peacock series ‘Twisted Metal‘’.
This week, it was confirmed that the show, based on the hit video game franchise, has been renewed for another season.

More than two years after the Tokyo Olympic Games were held at a reported cost of US$13Billion, six companies, including the advertising giant Dentsu, plus seven individuals, are standing trial in Japan on corruption charges related to the bidding process.
The allegations largely center around claims of rigging a string of Games-related contracts. Dentsu in particular served as the chief marketing arm of the Tokyo Olympics, raising a record US$3.3B in local sponsorships and receiving a commission on sales.
And that’s a wrap!
