In rugby – Fiji-born All Blacks, Sevu Reece and George Bower are expected to start for the Crusaders this weekend, when the champions take on the Fijian Drua at 3.35pm Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji.
Last time they played, in 2022 in Christchurch, the Crusaders crushed the Fijian Drua 61-3.
So what can we expect from Scott Robertson this time? And what can we expect from the Fijian Drua?
Only time will tell.
In rugby league – our world famous NRL tips: Rabbitohs to curry potato the Panthers at Penrith tonight, the Eels to pumpkin soup the Sharks at CommBank, the Cowboys to bake the Broncos at Suncorp. And on Saturday the Dolphins to ration the Raiders in Redcliffe and the Storm to outfoxx the Bulldogs.
In football – Chelsea beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Stamford Bridge yesterday to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League 2-1 on aggregate.
Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz – with a twice-taken penalty, got the goals as the Blues relieved the pressure on Manager Graham Potter.
In boxing – Aussie boxing superstar, Tim Tszyu has got it all worked out, revealing his blueprint for 2023 is to beat Tony Harrison on Sunday, then unify the super welterweight division against Jermell Charlo, and finally take out Errol Spence Junior in a super fight anytime anywhere.
In Sportsbiz – a 2019 study by a global gender equality charity, which analysed over 1,300 comments on popular Facebook posts shared by major Australian sports news media over a 12 month period – including Fox Sports, Wide World of Sports, 7 Sport, 10 Sport and ABC Grandstand, found that Sportswomen received three times as many negative comments as men (27% compared to 9%). More than a quarter of all comments about sportswomen were derogatory or negative – very sad.
Over 23 per cent of negative comments about sportswomen were sexist, while 14% were sexual and 20% were belittling of sportswomen.
Go Girls Go! Don’t let this get you down.
