Summary

Malo  and welcome to Episode 70 of Breakfast Bites by TeivovoSports.com – a  wrap of Pasifika peoples sports on this beautiful bright and sunny  Thursday morning 08 September 2022 – coming to you from paradise on the  180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

In rugby – the RWC7s starts on Friday in Cape Town South Africa at 6:45pm Fiji time in the Mens Comp at 7:29pm Samoa-Uganda, then at 8:23pm Kenya-Tonga with Team Fijiana playing at 11:17pm against Japan Women.

The real Men start playing from 1:39am with USA taking on the winner of Samoa vs Uganda, followed at 2:01am New  Zealand versus the winner of Scotland vs Jamaica, 2:23am  Argentina-winner Kenya vs Tonga and at 4:05am for all you early birds  Fiji-winner Wales vs Korea.

In  this crazy format, designed to favour the big guns like England etc who  are not as 7s fit as Fiji and New Zealand, lose and you go home!

In  rugby league – our line up for the NRL Semi-finals next weekend based  on our world famous tips for who will make it through the first round of  finals this weekend: First Semi Final: The Panthers to host the Storm,  Second Semi Final the Sharks to host the Rabbitohs. Wanna bet?

In boxing – Anthony Joshua has accepted Tyson  Fury’s offer of 40% of a multi-million pound purse for a blockbuster  British Heavyweight title fight on 17 December 2022 at the Principality  Stadium in Cardiff Wales.

Smart  play by the Gypsy King because he squeezes this sell-out fight out of  AJ in Britain and smashes him to a pulp, before doing the same to the  Ukrainian champ Oleksandr Usyk in 2023 before Fury retires undefeated.

In tennis – awful  Aussie Nick Kyrgios has crashed out of the US Tennis Open, eliminated  in the quarter-finals in a thrilling five sets: 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6  (7/3), 4-6 by Russian star, Karen Khachanov.

Remember  Kyrgios had earlier taken out World Number One, Daniil Medvedev and  installed as the tournament favourite, but what can I say – he smashed  two racquets after the game on his way out like a spoilt kid.

In  football – English Premier League giants Chelsea has sacked their 49  year old German Manager, Thomas Tuchel, just days after their new US  owners splashed out a record US$311Million on nine new players,  including – Raheem Sterling from Man City @ £47.5Million, Wesley Fofana  from Leicester City @ £75M, Marc Cucurella from Brighton @ £60M and  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona @ £10.3M.

Plus Tuchel got rid of problem child Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on loan and dud striker Timo Werner to RB Leipzig for £25.3M.

And get this – Thomas Tuchel guided the Blues to Champions League glory in 2021, the FA Cup and EFL Cup finals last season.

It’s  like buying your child all the Christmas presents they want and then  dropping them off at an orphanage on Boxing Day without the presents!
