Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 38 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on another beautiful blue sky morning 08 February 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!

John O’Connor the CEO of the Fiji Rugby Union has resigned despite speculation on social media linking his departure from rugby house in Suva to the recent change of government in Fiji.

This is simply not true.

Word from Fiji Rugby union insiders say O’Connor resigned for personal health reasons.

His replacement will be known in 6 to 8 weeks in rugby league.

The mother of Broncos Star Payne Haas has been gaoled, but not for the car crash on the Gold Coast that killed three people as she was trying to evade police on 30th December. That case is still to go to court

Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua was on parole at the time of the crash for violently assaulting and spitting on to star casino bounces in September last year, for which he had served one month of a nine month sentence in gaol before being granted parole.

The nature of her involvement in the deadly car crash was deemed to be a breach of her parole, prompting police to put her back behind bars.

Boy, this woman needs help.

In tennis World number one Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Australian Open after suffering another injury blow. The 19 year old has had his 22 season curtailed by an abdominal tear, but the Spaniard revealed on his social media channels he has now sustained sustained an injury to a muscle in his right leg. I worked so hard to get to my best level for Australia but unfortunately I won’t be able to play in the Australian Open, he posted.

And in football, if ever there was a fixed match, this is it.  In one of the most incredible finishes to imagine a league history in Australia, Sydney FC lost one nil to nine men Wellington Phoenix from New Zealand after incredibly missing two penalties in stoppage time following a series of bizarre refereeing decisions.

My goodness, football in Australia seems to be falling apart and only in the US Donna Whites new show power slap where two fighters slap each other in the face until one gives up and the other is declared.

The winner is, uh, not surprisingly, being delayed.

Well, what do you expect?

After TMZ uploaded a video shot by a bystander at a nightclub in Cabo Mexico on New Year’s Eve, showing U F C praise White, slapping his wife in the face twice.

My goodness, do you think he did it to promote the show?
