Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 35 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on another beautiful blue sky Sunday morning 05 February 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!

In rugby – Pacific Island Tests for the July window will see in the Pacific Nations Cup running from 22nd July to 5th August this year: Fiji vs Tonga in Suva, Fiji vs Samoa in Apia and Fiji vs Japan in Tokyo.

Our guess is, that Samoa and Tonga will also play Japan and do battle on the same day Fiji plays Japan.

Flying Fijians

Meanwhile with the Flying Fijians new-coach situation: Scott Robertson cannot take on the Flying Fijians job fulltime until after the Super Rugby Pacific comp finishes. He will however be here for those PNC Tests, plus hopefully have a fulltime assistant coach working with our boys in Europe and more importantly those players in the Fijian Drua.

Rugby league

In rugby league – Brisbane Broncos star Payne Haas admits it has been “really tough” not being able to see or speak to his Mother, Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua who is the only survivor from a car crash in December in which three people were killed.

“It’s been really tough. Haas says: “I’m a mummy’s boy.”

In boxing – Australia’s Liam Wilson says a “27 second count” after his big knock down of Mexican superstar Emanuel Navarrete in the fourth round in the USA yesterday, robbed him of the WBO World Super Featherweight title.

So the promoters are launching an immediate protest after the Queenslander was stopped in the ninth round.

In football Sportsbiz – Chelsea’s world record investment in the transfer market flopped big time yesterday as the Blues were held 0-0 at home by Fulham. The most expensive player in EPL history, Enzo Fernandez, plus Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana all made their Chelsea debut at Stamford Bridge for naught.
