Bula, I’m Ben Koli, fj007, welcome to Fiji Airways TEIVOVO Rugby Show LOL 😀
Bula and welcome to our Super Rugby Pacific review. i’m Culden Kamea.
Right up front I want to give a big shout out to all the doctors, especially the nurses and the staff at the Pacific Eye Clinic in Brown Street, Suva.
That’s where I had my cataract removed last week Thursday and so far so good so please excuse my dark glasses.
The highlight of Super Rugby Pacific Rd 4 in Australia had to be the Swires Shipping Fijian Drua giving the Queensland Reds the fright of their life at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night. Whew you could see the relief of the Reds, surviving just – 33-28 after our boys came charging back with three late tries from 28-9 down!
If only Seru Uru was playing for the Drua!
Hats off again to our fantastic Fijiana Drua who stomped all over the Reds ladies 27-12.
Me thinks they can win the Super W comp! Go Girls Go!
In New Zealand, Moana Pasifika was tackled head high again by COVID19 knocking out their opponents the Hurricanes!
And the Chiefs knocked over the Crusaders 21-24 with a last gasp try for a famous with down south with their impressive No. 8, Pita Gus Sowaikula now firmly in All Blacks conversations.
In other results:
• the Blues 32-20 Highlanders
• Brumbies 36-17 Rebels
• NSW Waratahs 22-17 Force
• Moana Pasifika v Hurricanes was postponed
The Fijian Drua are now 9th on the SRP table with 5 points and only the Queensland Reds, the NSW Waratahs and the Force are ahead of them in the Australian side of the SRP comp!
It’s still a long way to go this season with 10 more pool games to go, but if they beat the Force this weekend, the sky is the limit!
After four rounds it’s the Brumbies at the top of the table on 18 points, ahead of the Reds and the Crusaders.
We finish with some top rugby league action featuring some of our NRL Fijian stars.
